Withdrawal and Correction Policies
General Principles
At The UJBATM, we are committed to upholding the integrity and permanence of the scholarly record. All articles published online are considered the Version of Record—the definitive, citable version of academic research, identified by a DOI (Digital Object Identifier).
To maintain the accuracy and consistency of our published content, UJBATM does not permit changes to the Version of Record once an article is published online. Instead, any necessary amendments will be issued as formal post-publication notices, ensuring transparency and accountability without altering the original publication.
Post-Publication Corrections
Corrections will be considered only when:
• The meaning or interpretation of the content is significantly affected.
• There are errors in metadata (e.g., author names, affiliations, or article title) that impact discoverability in indexing services.
• The results and conclusions of the article remain valid, and the reliability of the research is not in question.
All corrections will:
• Be approved by the Editor and Editorial Board.
• Be issued as a separate notice, clearly describing the error and correction.
• Be visible on the PDF version of the article.
• Not alter the published Version of Record directly.
Minor errors such as stylistic, typographic, or formatting issues that do not impact understanding, scientific accuracy, or indexing are not grounds for a correction notice. Significant typesetting errors introduced after the proof stage, however, may be considered for correction.
Corrections must be requested within 12 months of the original publication. After this period, corrections will be made only under exceptional circumstances and at the Editor’s discretion.
Authorship and Affiliation Changes
Changes to author names or affiliations post-publication are generally not allowed, in line with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
• Author affiliation must reflect where the research was conducted.
• Any request for changes in authorship order, additions, or removals will require formal investigation and justification.
Addenda and Updated Findings
Addenda for new data or changes in interpretation cannot be issued after publication. If significant new findings emerge, authors should consider submitting a new article. If an error invalidates the article’s core findings, retraction may be considered.
Article Withdrawal
The UJBATM adheres to the principles outlined by the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) and the International Publishers Association (IPA) regarding the retraction or removal of articles.
An article may be withdrawn from our database only under the following conditions:
• It violates professional ethical standards, such as breaches of confidentiality or privacy.
• It is subject to ongoing legal action or dispute.
• It contains falsified or dangerous data, where retaining the content could pose a public health or safety risk.
In such cases, we will retain the bibliographic metadata of the withdrawn article whenever legally permissible, to maintain the scholarly record and citation traceability.
For any questions or concerns regarding post-publication corrections or withdrawal, please contact the Editor-in-Chief of UJBATM.
